Vita nostra brevis est, brevi finietur;
Venit mors velociter, rapit nos atrociter,
Nemini parcetur.


Vivat academia, vivant professores!
Vivat membrum quodlibet, vivant membra quaelibet;
Semper sint in flore.


Translation:




Let us rejoice therefore while we are young;
After a pleasant youth, after a troubling old age,
Earth will hold us.


Our life is short, it will be ended shortly;
Death comes swiftly, it snatches us mercilessly,
It spares no one.


Long live the academy, long live the professors!
Long live each and every member, long live every part;
May they always be in bloom.
